Happenings

Just a really quick post to let you all in on the happenings in my uneventful life.

I finally stopped "planning on writing" and I have actually started writing a book. I only have about half a page so far (the prologue), but it's a start. I was thinking about doing a book in a month thing for July, since I may not be able to do Nanowrimo this year, but I decided that I don't want the pressure. I want to relax and enjoy my summer and get some writing done, but not too much. I also want to work on editing my last Nanowrimo novel, so I will need time to do that.

How do you all feel about the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice, starring Keira Knightly?
I know that a lot of people probably liked it, so I will try not to step on any toes, but I must be honest and confess that I hated that version. I really, really hated it. I know I am probably slightly biased by my love for the Colin Firth/Jennifer Ehle version, but I do have a lot of valid reasons for this dislike as well.

Tomorrow I will be re-watching the movie and attempting to clearly and logically outline my reasons for disliking it. So, get ready for that post. It will be very lengthy, but I will try to organize it so that it is easy to read instead of just rambling on and on. I am going to enjoy writing this one. : )

Good for you! I think summer is the perfect time to relax (sadly I've found myself being a busy bee lately). I didn't love the 2005 version, either. I haven't seen it lately, either. Well, it feels like FOREVER since I've spared the time to comment on your lovely blog! Sorry about that! Life has been busy, but I'm glad to be on here now talking to the amazing Jane...yes, amazing! Hope your day is beautiful today!

I agree with you on the 2005 versioin of Pride and Predjudice. The old one was a lot better IMO.

I really, really wanted to like the 2005 P&P, but I was pretty disappointed. It was too modern for me, and not nearly as good as the '95 version. I don't think it's because of the length of the movie; I just think the script could have been written better. It's too bad, because the cast was pretty good! The cinematography and music were excellent, too.

I know, I love hoverboards! I stole the idea and named them Airskates for my Steampunk novel *grins*
I loved NaNo! I know, I love "Letitia"... sounds so... ominous *grins* Not Jane Letitia Penderwick, of course =)
I LOVE the BBC Pride and Prejudice! The 2003 just wasn't NEARLY as good - Keira Knightly is NOT Elizabeth, and their Mr. Darcy has NO personality (plus, he's ugly *laughs*)
So, yeah, I'm biased, too =)
I love the author graphic thing on your sidebar - I'll have to do one like it with my favorite authors!! Yay! =)

I know I know I know.....
Kiera Knightly STINKS, and the movie didn't stick to the book at all...
BUT I LOVE IT!

I guess I prefer it cause Colin Firth scares me?

LOL

(by the way, apparently people have not been able to find my blog since I changed the URL. Just for future reference, it is now www.faithfullyfeminine.blogspot.com)

Congrats on starting the new story! Those first pages are always a terrifyingly exciting time. I just dived into the beginning of my next novel, so I'm in the same place myself right now. Have fun!
