How is your Nanowrimo novel going? Mine is going about as well as I had hoped. I've got about 1,800 words so far, and I'm hoping to get to 4,000 by the end of the day.
My characters are already surprising me. For example, I had planned on Julie seeing Ned in this scene but not really meeting him yet. I wasn't sure how to do that though. As soon as Julie had arrived at the school and was walking up the steps, Ned came bursting out of the doors and ran into her, knocking all of her things down the stairs. I hadn't planned on that until the moment I was writing it, and it was a little surprising but I said, "Ok, Ned... not what I had planned for you, but it does make you more interesting." It was a natural way for them to meet without me forcing it. I had planned on him being a little more shy than that, but this works even better.
I went to the doctor yesterday about my back, which is still hurting. She gave me some medicine to try that might help clear up the muscle tension. I took it last night, but it was really late, and she said it takes 6-8 hours for the drowsiness to wear off. So when I woke up this morning to go to class I still felt all weird from that and didn't go. Then when I went to my second class it was cancelled. I came to a coffee shop instead to work on my novel and that is where I am now.
If you are doing Nanowrimo, let me know in the comments! I want to hear how your novels are coming along.

As you already know, I am working on my own NaNo too. ^_^ I'm about to meet today's minimum goal, but I think I'll be able to go over it as well to get me ahead a bit. My story is certainly already surprising me - Arthur is apparently a reader like Si (who'd have guessed?), which will actually help me out a bit with my twinning, and Mr. Tewe evidently walks like a grasshopper.
It's amazing the ideas you come up with when you are just trying to increase word count! BTW, I'll be updating my status over at my blog, with both my word count as well as some Twitter-like comments in my comment section. :D
Good luck with yours!
I have 3,071 words. It isn't coming along very well, though, because I can't think of what they should do next! I am so annoyed. Sounds like yours is coming on good! :)

I'm glad it's going so well for you! It is for me as well. ;)
Jane, you have NO IDEA how helpful your comment was!! Thanks so much. But I have one more question, when you go in, the auditorium is full of seats, right? Do you have an assigned seat or can you sit anywhere you want? And after you are seated, do you stay seated for the concert or do most people stand?
Okay, I'm going to be annoying now and ask you one more question. ;) What's it like when you go after the show and meet the band? Where do they meet people and sign albums and stuff? How much time do you have with them afterward?
(can you tell I really need to go to a concert myself soon? ;)
I'm at 3369 words! An I'm tired. It has benn two late nights in a row. My characters are all shy. There has been some emotional tension between some of them. I doesn't help that someone has died already! A good part is coming up next so I'll wait until tomorrow to tackle it!
Love when characters get to moving around on their own. It makes for smoother writing and lots more excitment on the writers part! Sounds like everything is going great!
I managed to reach 5k last night. I'm happy with the way my novels going, although not thrilled... yet. The only unexpected so far is that the character that I had planned on being rather sweet, loving and adorable has a really awesome attitude instead. She also ended up being the queen of sarcasm, which actually fits her better, considering who she's based off of. ;)
So, I guess things are going well! Btw, are you signed up on the NaNo website?
Georgie
